PDF Annotation & Transcription Experts – Gujarati

The position of PDF Annotation & Transcription Expert for Gujarati is offered by Mercor, a company focused on creating high‑quality training data that improves document‑understanding models for languages that are rarely seen by current vision‑language systems. The work centers on Gujarati, one of several Indic scripts being targeted, and involves turning real‑world PDF pages into richly annotated, accurately transcribed resources. Each day you will locate a publicly available Gujarati PDF that contains at least one multimodal element such as an image, table, diagram or handwritten section, and note its source. You will then delineate every meaningful area on the page—titles, headings, paragraphs, lists, tables, figures, captions, formulas, questions and answer fields—assigning a component type and a reading‑order index. Relationships between regions and their parent figures or tables are recorded, and all visible text is reproduced verbatim in Gujarati script, with illegible spots flagged. Additional metadata about language, document type, dimensions and the presence of tables, formulas or handwriting is captured, and a second Gujarati specialist reviews the completed task for correctness. Candidates must be native speakers of Gujarati with complete mastery of the script, including its diacritics and conjunct forms. Prior experience with any form of document work—annotation, transcription, translation, localization, subtitling, proofreading, journalism, or regional‑language data review—is required. The role demands meticulous, character‑by‑character precision
