Technical Development Leader

Roche, a global leader in healthcare that strives to prevent, stop and cure disease, is looking for a Technical Development Leader at its Basel campus. In this senior position you will guide the creation of Chemistry, Manufacturing and Control (CMC) strategies that move innovative synthetic‑molecule medicines from early clinical testing through to market launch. Your daily work will involve steering technical teams that design manufacturing, formulation and supply‑chain solutions, acting as the chief conduit between asset groups, senior leaders and governance panels, and providing clear progress reports that shape company‑wide decisions. You will also be responsible for overseeing resource planning, budget stewardship and milestone monitoring, while anticipating risks and establishing contingency measures to keep projects on track. The role requires a recognized authority in CMC and product development, backed by a B.S., M.S. or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, Chemical Engineering or a related field. Applicants should have seven to fifteen years of pharmaceutical experience, including leadership of CMC teams or deep work in synthetic molecule processes and formulation. A solid grasp of the entire drug development lifecycle, a record of managing complex cross‑functional programs, and outstanding communication and negotiation abilities are essential. Willingness to travel both within the country and abroad about five to ten percent of the time is also required.
