Skysec Defence, a Swiss firm specializing in cutting‑edge counter‑drone technology, is expanding its software division. The company brings together experts from software, electronics, systems and development engineering to create advanced C‑UAS solutions. To support this growth they are looking for a seasoned DevOps / Build & Release Engineer. In this position you will advance the pipelines that compile, test and ship the company's code. Your work will touch continuous‑integration and delivery flows built on Gitea Actions, automate build and deployment steps, and guarantee that outputs are consistent across developer machines, CI runners and target hardware. You will manage Conan‑based dependency handling for C++ projects, create reproducible container environments with Podman or Docker, and assist with Buildroot‑driven image generation for embedded targets. Test automation, from unit checks to hardware‑close system tests, will be refined, while release orchestration, artifact tracking and version control are kept reliable. Clear documentation of processes and conventions will also be part of your remit. The ideal candidate holds a degree or equivalent training in computer science, software engineering, systems technology or has gained comparable expertise through hands‑on work. Proven background in CI/CD, build automation and Git‑centric development is required, as is familiarity with containerised build and test setups. Strong Linux proficiency and a solid grasp of modern C++ build chains, dependency handling, reproducible builds and artifact management are essential. Scripting ability in Bash or Python, organized handling of complex pipelines, and a focus on stability and traceability round out the core skill set. Effective communication with C++ and embedded developers, a pragmatic problem‑solving mindset and a commitment to the company's mission are also expected. Experience with Gitea Actions, Jenkins or similar CI migration projects, as well as work with Buildroot, Yocto or comparable embedded‑Linux build systems, is considered advantageous. Familiarity with cross‑compilation, deployment to embedded platforms, hardware‑in‑the‑loop testing, package registries, binary caches, artifact repositories, static analysis tools, sanitizers, code‑coverage metrics or automated quality gates would further strengthen your profile. Knowledge of software supply‑chain security topics such as provenance, signing and artifact integrity is also a plus. Based in Switzerland, the role offers a collaborative environment with flat hierarchies, flexible working hours and a focus on work‑life balance. Employees benefit from support for drone‑related certifications, subsidised fitness memberships, free premium coffee, regular team events and a compensation package that includes growing social benefits. What the role asks for: - Degree or equivalent in computer science, software engineering or systems - Proven CI/CD and build‑automation experience with Git workflows - Hands‑on work with containerised build and test environments - Strong Linux administration skills - Deep understanding of modern C++ build processes and dependency handling - Bash or Python scripting proficiency - Ability to organise complex build, test and release pipelines - Commitment to stable, reproducible development practices - Nice‑to‑have: experience with Gitea Actions or Jenkins - Nice‑to‑have: familiarity with Buildroot, Yocto or similar systems - Nice‑to‑have: cross‑compilation and embedded deployment experience - Nice‑to‑have: hardware‑in‑the‑loop testing knowledge - Nice‑to‑have: experience with package registries or binary caches - Nice‑to‑have: use of static analysis, sanitizers or code‑coverage tools - Nice‑to‑have: knowledge of software supply‑chain security concepts
