Senior SAP Application Developer

V‑ZUG is looking for a Senior SAP Application Developer to join its Business Applications team within the ICT organisation. The division drives the group's digital vision by delivering and maintaining core business systems such as SAP and Microsoft solutions. The role is based primarily in Zug, with 80 %, 100 % on‑site work and the option to work partly from home. The day‑to‑day focus is on designing, building and enhancing SAP applications. You will write ABAP and ABAP OO code, create interfaces, forms, Fiori/UI5 screens, OData services, CDS views and manage upgrades, authorisations and other enhancements in line with SAFe priorities. As a technical leader you will coordinate internal and external experts, enforce development guidelines, run code reviews and plan resources efficiently. Modern toolsets such as Eclipse IDE, VS Code or Business Application Studio and the ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model will be your daily environment. You will also provide second‑ and third‑level support for the SAP HANA and R/3 landscape, ensuring stable operation while contributing to the SAP roadmap, clean‑core strategy and integration platform built on SAP BTP and Azure Integration Services in close partnership with the ICT Enterprise Architecture team. The position requires a university degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics or a comparable qualification. You must have deep SAP and ABAP experience, especially with ABAP OO, RAP, CDS views, BAPIs, BADIs and the enhancement framework. A solid grasp of SAP architecture, including S/4HANA, Fiori and SAP BTP, and hands‑on experience with integration technologies such as RFC, IDoc, SOAP, OData or APIs are essential. Proven technical‑leadership skills, the ability to manage complex issues, advise business stakeholders and delegate tasks are mandatory, as is a habit of delivering high‑quality, clean code. Professional‑level German communication skills are also required. Experience with SAFe or other agile frameworks is considered an advantage, as is a proactive attitude toward emerging technologies like AI‑based approaches.
