Site Controller

The Site Controller will serve as the primary financial partner to the Head of Operations at SHL Medical's newly established manufacturing site in Zug, Switzerland. In this capacity the individual is responsible for overseeing the site's overall financial performance, including cost of goods sold, operating expenses, facility costs, capital expenditures, budgeting, forecasting and detailed financial analysis. On a daily basis the role involves advising senior operations leadership with financial insight, shaping decisions that improve profitability and cost efficiency. The controller prepares and presents monthly performance reports covering manufacturing metrics such as COGS, expense trends, productivity, material costs and budget variances. They lead the budgeting and forecasting cycles for both the Swiss Operations and Facility teams, track key performance indicators, analyse deviations and propose corrective actions. Additional duties include supporting CAPEX planning and monitoring, driving cost‑optimization projects, providing data for global product‑costing simulations and collaborating with finance partners at other manufacturing locations to harmonise reporting and costing processes. The position requires at least seven years of progressive finance experience, with a minimum of three years spent supporting a manufacturing, engineering or industrial setting. Candidates must hold a bachelor's or master's degree in finance, accounting, business administration or a closely related discipline. Proficiency with SAP, especially analysis of production order variances, is mandatory, as is solid expertise in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting (standard cost setting, inventory valuation, work‑order variances, PPV, scrap, inventory reserves) and business partnering. The role also demands strong analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities, excellent communication and presentation skills, and fluency in both German and English. Experience in regulated sectors such as pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical devices or similar manufacturing environments is required. Preferred attributes include a proven track record of leading cross‑functional initiatives, advanced storytelling and presentation capabilities for executive audiences, and the ability to build trusted relationships across a matrixed, multicultural organization. Candidates who thrive in fast‑paced, dynamic settings and demonstrate resilience, adaptability and a collaborative mindset are especially valued. Fluency in Mandarin is listed as an additional advantage.
