Senior Solutions Engineer

The Solutions Engineer role at NetApp supports the Zurich Region, acting as the technical advisor for leading Swiss enterprise and commercial customers. NetApp delivers data‑infrastructure solutions that enable organizations to run traditional workloads and AI‑driven applications across hybrid‑cloud environments, positioning itself as a trusted partner for digital transformation. In this position you will own the technical side of the sales process, guiding customers from initial discovery through proof‑of‑concepts to final solution design. You will work closely with a Client Executive, channel partners and internal specialists to craft modern data architectures, address hybrid‑cloud, data‑management, cybersecurity and AI use cases, and manage several opportunities at once while travelling to customer sites when required. The employer requires proven success, at least four years, in supporting large or enterprise customers through complex sales cycles. You must be able to discuss AI readiness, data strategy, hybrid‑cloud and disaster‑recovery topics with senior stakeholders. Deep expertise in data storage, data protection/continuity (including cyber‑security), virtualization and containers is essential, and experience with cloud architectures is highly desirable. Strong discovery, communication and presentation abilities are needed to translate technical features into clear business value. You must collaborate effectively with client executives, channel partners and specialists, take ownership of issues and architectures, and conduct hands‑on POCs and technical workshops. The role also expects you to build ROI/TCO analyses, respond to RFPs, and keep up‑to‑date with NetApp's portfolio and competitive landscape. Excellent written and verbal Swiss‑German and English are required, as is a bachelor's degree with at least six years of relevant experience (or a master's degree with five years). Nice‑to‑have attributes include knowledge of NetApp's competitive and alliance ecosystem, and a background in cloud‑native environments.
