The Network Administrator in ATLAS DAQ role at CERN involves working with the ATLAS Data Acquisition (DAQ) team to modernise and maintain one of the world's most advanced scientific computing networks. Support for the operation and upkeep of the ATLAS TDAQ laboratory, including infrastructure, equipment, and resource management, is also a key part of the job. Furthermore, contributing to the maintenance and evolution of the ATLAS DAQ hardware infrastructure, including server deployment and hardware interventions, is essential. To qualify for this role, candidates must have basic experience as a Sysadmin or Netadmin, with hands-on experience in server and/or switch installations in a professional environment. Basic knowledge of the TCP/IP stack and Ethernet networks, as well as basic programming skills in Python and Bash, is required. General knowledge of Linux systems and the ability to work in teams are also necessary. Proficiency in spoken and written English, with a commitment to learn French, is essential. Nice-to-have skills include the ability to work in a dynamic, inclusive environment where diversity is valued. The role is based at CERN, which offers a comprehensive benefits package, including a monthly stipend, paid leave, health insurance, and family allowances. The position involves working in radiation areas, underground installations, and may require stand-by duty, night shifts, and work on Sundays and official holidays. The contract duration is 24 months, with a possible extension up to 36 months.
