BASEL OFFICE - Business Solutions Manager - HR

Viking, a worldwide leader in experiential travel that operates more than a hundred vessels across rivers, oceans and continents, is looking for a Business Solutions Manager focused on HR applications at its Basel office. The role will guide the delivery and upkeep of the company’s HR and operational software, leveraging deep knowledge of architecture, integrations and project oversight to help the organization run smoothly. Each day the manager will work with business partners to translate needs into practical digital solutions, steer full‑cycle implementation projects, and allocate both internal and external resources while monitoring budgets and risks. Collaboration across departments will be essential to gather insights, align goals and ensure that new tools are adopted effectively. The position also involves reviewing current workflows, proposing efficiency gains, evaluating emerging technologies, and handling change‑management plans, training, and ongoing user support. Vendor selection and relationship management, as well as producing clear documentation and status reports for stakeholders, round out the responsibilities. Candidates must bring at least five years of proven experience leading either custom‑built or packaged application projects, along with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Excellent communication is required to explain technical ideas to non‑technical audiences and to coordinate with development teams. A bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or a comparable field is expected. Mandatory technical abilities include solid SQL knowledge and familiarity with relational databases, while a good grasp of HRIS/ERP design concepts—such as SuccessFactors, Workday or SAP Payroll—is highly valued. Experience with JIRA, Microsoft Power Platform, API integration or script‑based automation is considered advantageous.
