C++ Software Engineer

Citadel Securities, a leading global market maker that supplies liquidity across equity and fixed‑income markets, is seeking a C++ Software Engineer. The firm blends finance, science and technology to turn sophisticated analytics into practical solutions, and the new hire will join a team that values speed and precision where fractions of a nanosecond matter. The day‑to‑day work involves dissecting complex problems and delivering clear, efficient code that directly influences trading outcomes. You will create and sustain fast, reliable components that form the core of the firm’s trading platform, continually striving to shrink latency, boost stability and increase throughput in a distributed setting. Collaboration is key: you will work closely with traders, researchers and other engineers to move concepts into production, and you will be responsible for operating your code live, monitoring its performance and iterating on improvements. The position requires solid expertise in C++ and a commitment to writing clean, high‑performance software. A deep understanding of multithreaded programming, concurrency and distributed architectures is essential, as is the ability to communicate ideas clearly and thrive in an environment that demands ownership. A bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, engineering or a related discipline is required; prior exposure to trading or finance is advantageous but not mandatory. The role can be based in any of Citadel’s major hubs—including Gurugram, Hong Kong, London, Miami, New York, Shanghai, Singapore, Sydney or Zurich—with relocation support offered where needed.
