The Specialist, Transforming Industrial Ecosystems role is based at the World Economic Forum in Geneva. The Forum is an independent, not‑for‑profit organization that brings together public and private leaders to address global challenges. Within its Centre for Energy and Materials (CENMAT), the Transforming Industrial Ecosystems (TIE) programme works to reshape industrial clusters, fostering economic growth, job creation, and CO₂‑e reduction through the Transitioning Industrial Clusters (TIC) initiative. In day‑to‑day work the specialist will lead strategic projects and TIC workstreams from initial scoping through delivery, evaluation and follow‑up. This includes creating project plans, setting milestones, establishing governance, coordinating internal teams and external experts, and managing risks, dependencies and resources. A core part of the position is building and managing senior‑partner engagement. The specialist will cultivate relationships with senior representatives from companies, industry associations, governments and international organisations, organise and lead partner meetings, workshops and community dialogues, and identify opportunities to broaden participation and deepen collaboration. Representing the TIE programme at internal and external events, the specialist will also contribute to foresight, research and thought‑leadership outputs, turning quantitative and qualitative analysis into clear recommendations and narratives for senior decision‑makers. The role requires a strategic thinker with strong project‑management experience. Candidates must hold a Master's degree in international relations, business administration, sustainability, energy, industrial transformation or a related field, and have 6–7 years of relevant professional experience in the private, public or non‑profit sector. Strong analytical and data‑management skills, proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, and experience building relationships with senior stakeholders are also required. The position is temporary, running from October 2026 to June 2027, and offers the chance to work in a highly international, cross‑functional environment alongside senior leaders from business, government, academia and civil society. The role is embedded within CENMAT and reports to the Manager, Transforming Industrial Ecosystems, providing exposure to high‑level World Economic Forum meetings and events.
