Senior DevOps Engineer

Frontify delivers a brand‑management platform that powers the visual identity of global companies such as Microsoft, Telefónica, Bosch, Mercedes‑Benz and Kia. As a Senior DevOps Engineer you will join a team that builds the underlying infrastructure enabling those brands to collaborate, automate workflows and leverage AI‑ready foundations, while the company continues expanding from its roots in St. Gallen to offices worldwide. In this role you will keep the system landscape healthy and evolving, handling everything from monitoring and observability to incident response. Daily tasks include designing and refining cloud resources, managing Linux servers and relational databases, and overseeing containerised workloads with Docker and an orchestrator like Kubernetes or AWS ECS. You will also shape on‑call rotations, post‑mortems, service‑level objectives and error budgets, while working closely with R&D, QA and security groups to streamline deployments and enforce best‑practice security controls. The position requires a minimum of five years’ experience in a DevOps, platform or systems engineering capacity, ideally within a SaaS environment. You must be comfortable with Nginx, MySQL (including replication and tuning), and Linux distributions such as Amazon Linux, CentOS or Red Hat. Proven expertise in Docker, Kubernetes or AWS ECS, as well as hands‑on work with core AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, CloudFront or OpenSearch) and Terraform for infrastructure‑as‑code, is essential. A solid grasp of CI/CD pipelines, monitoring tools like Datadog or Grafana, SRE concepts, and cloud security practices—including IAM, secrets handling and compliance frameworks such as ISO or GDPR—is also required, together with fluent English. Additional assets include knowledge of Puppet, experience supporting developer and deployment teams, and a generalist mindset that can help shape the role. The job can be performed remotely from anywhere in Switzerland or from the St. Gallen office, offering flexible work settings, generous leave, pension contributions, wellbeing allowances and the possibility to work from inspiring locations for up to 45 days a year.
