Operational Technology Engineer

The Operational Technology Engineer at Holcim is a strategic role focused on the design, deployment, and governance of Industrial Control Systems (ICS) and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), known internally as Technical Information Systems (TIS). The engineer will also support the full lifecycle of ICS/MES deployments, from site assessment to post-go-live support, and ensure the reliability of the ICS/TIS environment. Additionally, the role involves developing and optimizing industrial data communication protocols, maintaining data governance and security, and collaborating with various departments to ensure end-to-end system integration. To qualify for this role, candidates must have an MS or PhD in Electrical, Electronic, or Automation Engineering, along with an ISA/IEC 62443 OT cybersecurity certificate. A minimum of three years' experience as a plant automation/systems engineer in the process industry is required, along with three years' experience managing industrial data systems and industrial networking. Proficiency in English is essential, with Spanish, German, and French being advantageous. The role requires 30% international travel. Nice-to-have skills include a deep understanding of OT systems in the process industry, knowledge of industrial networking protocols, and familiarity with cloud platforms and IoT technologies.
