Senior Mechanical R&D Engineer

Within its Electrical Safety Solutions division, the company creates safety‑critical components such as high‑speed circuit breakers and voltage limiters that protect essential infrastructure. The opening is for a Senior Mechanical R&D Engineer based in Geneva. In this role you will be responsible for conceiving and designing standardized electro‑mechanical products that meet safety requirements, as well as adapting existing designs to satisfy particular client needs. You will generate optimized solutions that reflect current technologies throughout the product’s life cycle, influence technical specifications for both standard and bespoke items, and apply Design‑to‑Cost and Design‑for‑Manufacturing principles. Advanced engineering software will be used to refine development, and you will take part in prototype assembly, testing and compliance verification while working closely with Methods and Production to boost quality and manufacturing performance. The position requires a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline and at least ten years of experience in designing safety‑critical electro‑mechanical products or a comparable field. Candidates must have a proven track record in product development across its lifecycle, be proficient in English for all written communication, and demonstrate strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. Experience in cross‑functional, international teams is essential.
