Senior PCB Layout Engineer (H/F)

The Senior PCB Layout Engineer role is crucial for developing complex electronic board designs in regulated sectors such as aerospace, defence, space, railway, and medical devices. The main day-to-day responsibilities include performing placement and routing of complex, high-density multilayer PCBs. The engineer will translate electronic schematics and technical constraints into robust and manufacturable PCB layouts, ensuring compliance with signal integrity, EMC, and manufacturability requirements. Additionally, the role involves defining and applying PCB design rules, working on mixed-signal boards, and participating in PCB stack-up definition and design reviews. Collaboration with Hardware, Mechanical, Industrialization, and Quality teams is essential, as is preparing manufacturing and assembly documentation and supporting prototype, manufacturing, and design modification phases. To qualify for this role, candidates must have a degree in electronics, electrical engineering, embedded systems, or a related field. At least 5 years of hands-on experience in PCB layout for complex electronic boards, including experience with multilayer PCB designs of at least 8 layers, is required. Proficiency with Altium Designer / Altium 365 and Mentor Xpedition is essential, along with a good understanding of mixed-signal electronics, high-speed PCB design, EMC, signal integrity, power distribution, and thermal constraints. Experience with advanced PCB technologies, complex component packages, and PCB manufacturing and assembly processes is also necessary. Additionally, candidates must have experience participating in design reviews and working with multidisciplinary engineering teams, as well as a rigorous approach to design documentation, configuration, and quality requirements. Professional working proficiency in English is mandatory. Nice-to-have skills include experience in space, aerospace, defence, automotive, railway, or medical devices.
