Configurable Materials Master Data Domain Lead

The position of Configurable Materials Master Data Domain Lead sits at the heart of dormakaba’s product definition engine, where SAP Variant Configuration (VC) underpins how the company designs, prices, manufactures and services its offerings worldwide. Reporting to the Global Head of Data Governance & MDM, the role carries global responsibility across research, commercial, procurement, operations and finance, linking every stage from idea to market and from order to cash. Each day the incumbent will steer the evolution of the SAP VC data model, shaping characteristics, classes, configuration profiles, dependencies and super‑BOM structures. They will define material classification schemes, govern the end‑to‑end Bill‑of‑Materials strategy, and ensure seamless integration across PLM, SAP MDG, S/4HANA, MES and digital asset systems. The job also involves aligning the VC model with pricing and CPQ processes, extending master‑data to serialized equipment and service kits, and embedding sustainability and regulatory information such as REACH and RoHS into the material records. In addition, the lead will own the SAP MDG‑M and VC landscape, guide the S/4HANA transformation workstream, and champion AI‑driven automation for data profiling and rule management while nurturing a global community of data stewards. Candidates must possess deep expertise in Variant Configuration and materials master data, demonstrated ability to operate within a complex, matrixed multinational environment, and skill in building consensus among senior leaders. They should be comfortable translating intricate VC and BOM concepts into tangible business outcomes, questioning existing practices constructively and motivating teams to adopt new approaches. Desirable attributes include experience with AI‑enhanced data processes, a track record of leading large‑scale digital transformations, and the capacity to design operating models that balance on‑shore, near‑shore and offshore resources. The role offers exposure to a worldwide network, the chance to influence dormakaba’s digital product thread, and opportunities for leadership development within a forward‑looking industrial organization.
