Sr Operations & NPI Engineer

Abbott’s Heart‑Failure division is seeking a Senior Operations & NPI Engineer to help bring the next generation of circulatory‑support devices from concept to worldwide manufacturing. The role sits at the intersection of design and production, guiding complex electromechanical medical products through industrialisation, validation and scale‑up. Each day the engineer will supervise the hand‑over of new designs from research teams to the shop floor, craft manufacturing methods, write work instructions and assemble the required documentation. They will provide feedback on manufacturability, assembly and testability throughout development, devise and qualify test rigs, fixtures and measurement tools, and set up routing, bill‑of‑materials data and master records in SAP. Coordination with R&D, project managers, supply‑chain, quality, procurement and external vendors is essential, as is defining validation plans, performing statistical analysis of process capability and yield, spotting risks and steering corrective actions.
