The role of Finance and Operations involves managing both finance and legal aspects as the company expands into Europe and the US. The main responsibilities include handling finance and legal tasks, which are currently divided among the founders, a fiduciary, and external counsel. This role involves consolidating these tasks into a single function and building it out. Key finance duties include monthly closures, operating models, cash forecasts, and revenue recognition. Legal responsibilities encompass contract templates, GDPR compliance, and employment law in multiple countries. Additionally, the role involves setting up the US subsidiary, including incorporation, intercompany agreements, and state registrations. To qualify for this role, candidates must have at least five years of experience in finance and either legal or commercial contracting. Hands-on experience with accounting, payroll, and tax is essential. Proficiency in redlining SaaS contracts and understanding SaaS finance metrics are also required. Fluency in both German and English is mandatory, as these languages are used in customer interactions, fiduciary communications, and contracts. The ideal candidate should be comfortable being the first hire in this function and building the model from the ground up. Nice-to-have skills include experience setting up a foreign subsidiary, managing SMB customers, and automating routine financial tasks. The role is based in Zürich, with on-site work from Monday to Thursday and flexible hours. The company offers a salary band stated upfront, plus participation in the company's success.
