Nestlé's Product Technology Centre in Orbe, Switzerland is looking for an R&D Packaging Development Intern. The six‑month, hybrid internship begins in January or February 2027 and supports Nestlé's strategic sustainability initiatives within the Nescafé Dolce Gusto and NEO SACHET 2030 projects. In this role you will help redesign the Dolce Gusto capsule body by assessing packaging materials, running tests and recording results. You will also take part in the industrialisation of the NEO SACHET 2030 effort, performing laboratory experiments, pilot‑scale trials and supplier or factory testing. Daily tasks involve close cooperation with packaging, quality‑assurance and system‑performance groups, preparing concise presentations, test reports and technical briefs, and maintaining active communication with material suppliers and external partners to keep projects moving forward. The position requires a fresh graduate or a current student studying Materials Science, Packaging, Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline. Candidates should be keen on packaging development, sustainable materials and hands‑on R&D testing, and possess strong communication, meticulousness and curiosity. Analytical competence is essential, with the ability to turn test data into clear insights, and solid proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel. Fluency in English is mandatory, while French language skills are considered an advantage. Prior use of SPSS software and a mindset that embraces courage, collaboration, speed and continuous learning are viewed as added benefits.
