The R&D Internship: Hardware Engineer (m/w/d) 100% role involves supporting the R&D team in prototyping and transitioning new wearable device developments into serial production. The intern will work closely with the Hardware team to advance the next generation of wearable devices. This includes co-designing factory programming and test setups, conducting zero-series device assembly, and performing mechanical tests on components. The intern will also prepare test protocols, document results, and collaborate with product and R&D teams to implement design improvements using Autodesk Fusion 360. Additionally, the intern may contribute to the design and prototyping of product accessories like charging stations. The role requires a student seeking a 6-month internship in an entrepreneurial environment. Must-haves include a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, proficiency in Autodesk Fusion 360, a hands-on mentality, and proficiency in English. A valid Swiss working permit is also mandatory. Nice-to-have skills include basic PCB design experience, soldering skills, Python scripting for test data/automation, familiarity with DFM/DFA concepts, and exposure to injection molding processes.
