Law Clerk - Remote

The opening is for a remote contractor serving as a Law Clerk with a focus on commercial real‑estate and energy matters. The position leverages your legal background to feed real‑world examples into emerging artificial‑intelligence models, helping shape how those systems interpret and act on complex property documents. Your everyday work will involve scrutinizing a variety of property‑related paperwork—such as deeds, ground‑lease contracts, easements and rights‑of‑way agreements—to determine the length of terms, exclusivity clauses and transfer provisions. You will pinpoint any shortcomings or inconsistencies within the documentation sets, then compile your observations into uniform, easy‑to‑review formats for senior attorneys. Supporting due‑diligence processes, you will annotate and process files, raise alerts for filings that do not meet project or regulatory standards, and work alongside senior reviewers to address more intricate issues. The role requires at least five years of experience as a paralegal or legal document analyst, ideally within the energy, real‑estate or infrastructure sectors, and a proven track record of handling the types of property instruments listed above. You must be adept at interpreting contractual language concerning terms, exclusivity and conveyance, possess meticulous attention to detail, and be comfortable organizing findings in a structured manner while working independently in a fully remote, document‑intensive setting. Desirable extras include background on utility‑scale energy or transmission initiatives, familiarity with PJM site‑control or interconnection paperwork, and prior experience on the East Coast with related projects or legal practice.
