BASEL OFFICE - Nautical Compliance Manager

Viking, a worldwide provider of immersive travel experiences that operates a fleet of over a hundred vessels cruising rivers, oceans and continents, is looking for a Nautical Compliance Manager to join its Basel office. The role centres on safeguarding the safety framework that underpins the company’s river‑cruise operations, ensuring the programme meets all regulatory and ISO expectations while supporting the brand’s reputation for thoughtful exploration. Each day the manager will take charge of the safety management system, keeping policies up‑to‑date, interpreting new rules and turning them into clear guidance for ships and shore staff. They will direct the process for analysing incidents, overseeing investigations, documenting root causes and feeding lessons back into training and procedures. Preparation for external reviews such as ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and SUVA audits, as well as coordinating internal checks and tracking corrective actions, will be a core duty. The position also involves steering the compliance team, mentoring colleagues, monitoring safety‑related key indicators, spotting trends and driving data‑backed improvements, while acting as the primary liaison with operational units and regulatory bodies.
