Research Intern – Machine learning and digital twins

This role is a Research Intern position focused on machine learning and digital twins, within a company that develops customized digital twins for industrial applications. The company utilizes machine learning from real data to drive these applications. The main day-to-day responsibilities of this role include developing and maintaining the codebase to support various training modules and libraries, as well as collaborating with industrial partners to collect extensive datasets on real hardware. Additionally, the intern will design and deploy control policies on industrial applications and develop customized digital twins using machine learning from real data. To be considered for this position, candidates must be pursuing a master's degree in robotics, electrical or mechanical engineering, or computer science. They must also have practical knowledge of time series modelling, seq2seq, and data-driven digital twin models, as well as excellent coding skills in python, ROS, and experience with ML pipelines. A good foundation in linear algebra, numerical methods, optimization, and control theory is also required, along with excellent English language skills. Nice-to-have skills include knowledge of estimation theory, network modeling, and graph theory, as well as proficiency in German. The ideal candidate will be highly self-organized, motivated, and willing to learn new skills, with a strong foundation in teamwork, a positive work attitude, and creativity.
