VAROPreem is seeking an IT Business Analyst & Project Manager to reinforce its refinery operations across three strategic sites in Switzerland and Sweden. The company blends cutting‑edge IT, refinery automation and industrial automation (DCS/SCADA) to keep its refining business safe, efficient and continuously running. In this role you will steer multiple IT projects from initial analysis through delivery, turning scope and operational challenges into practical solutions and ongoing improvements. You act as the bridge between refinery operators, IT specialists and senior management, guaranteeing clear alignment and shared ownership of goals. Managing diverse project teams, you will keep momentum across several initiatives, optimise resources and budgets, and resolve constraints through pragmatic, business‑focused discussions. Collaboration extends to VARO’s European IT groups—including Business Solutions, Architecture, Infrastructure Management and the Service Desk—to deliver cohesive, scalable outcomes. You will also oversee the full suite of refinery applications, handling daily operations, enhancements, licensing, vendor contracts and ensuring uninterrupted business continuity. The position requires a master’s degree in IT, Applied Science or a comparable field, together with at least seven years of IT consulting experience in an industrial environment. Fluency in both French and English, both spoken and written, is essential. You must possess deep expertise in Industrial Automation (DCS/SCADA) and a solid grasp of the ISA‑95 model, as well as hands‑on experience with typical refinery systems such as CMMS/Enterprise Asset Management, workflow automation, asset reliability and turn‑around planning/management. A strong understanding of IT software, networks, infrastructure and applied computer languages is also mandatory. The role demands willingness to travel to sites when required and to participate in a rotational 24‑hour on‑call support model.
