Principal Mechanical Development Engineer - Huber+Suhner AG

Huber+Suhner AG is seeking a Principal Mechanical Development Engineer to work in Herisau, Switzerland. The company specializes in developing innovative antenna solutions and related technologies. The role involves developing and evaluating new product and technology concepts for future antenna solutions, considering technical, commercial, and manufacturing requirements. This includes designing mechanical components, assemblies, and demonstrators, as well as creating test fixtures to validate new solutions. The engineer will also identify, evaluate, and introduce new materials, manufacturing processes, and technologies, collaborating with both internal and external experts. Additionally, the role requires planning, executing, and managing advanced engineering projects from concept to technical implementation, and building and coordinating functional prototypes and customer samples. The ideal candidate must have a degree in engineering, such as a Dipl.-Ing., Master's, Bachelor's, or equivalent, with a technical specialization. Prior vocational training is also beneficial. Several years of professional experience in research and development, including patent-related activities, is required. Knowledge of toolmaking, materials engineering, FEM simulation, and design of experiments is advantageous. Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset are essential. The role requires a very good command of English (B2 level) and experience with standards such as IATF, IRIS, and MIL.
