Database-Oriented Analyst/Developer (Oracle) – Banking Sector

The position of Database‑Oriented Analyst/Developer (Oracle) is situated within a banking environment, where the team focuses on managing and evolving the organization’s data warehouse (ODS) and its connections to core banking and client‑facing applications. The role involves translating functional and technical inputs gathered in workshops into precise design documentation that guides changes to the ODS and related interfaces. Day‑to‑day duties include crafting and refining Oracle PL/SQL components such as packages, procedures, and views, with an emphasis on clean modular architecture, consistent naming, and thorough code reviews. The developer also builds structured logging to support audit trails, implements standardized error handling, and prepares troubleshooting runbooks to keep production stable. In addition, the job requires writing and adjusting UNIX KornShell scripts that coordinate batch processes across multiple time zones, as well as collaborating with both on‑shore and off‑shore colleagues to ensure deliveries align with architectural standards and interface contracts. Ongoing maintenance of existing database objects to preserve performance and reliability is also a core responsibility. The posting does not list explicit qualifications, experience levels, language proficiencies, or certifications, nor does it mention specific location benefits, team size, or growth opportunities. Consequently, candidates should focus on demonstrating relevant Oracle PL/SQL expertise, Unix scripting ability, and experience working in collaborative, multi‑regional development settings.
