Senior Accountant / Controller

The senior accountant/controller will oversee the full spectrum of accounting for the Swiss entities, acting as the CFO’s principal partner on reporting, audit and compliance matters while helping shape a rapidly evolving finance function in an entrepreneurial setting. Day‑to‑day duties include managing the general ledger—covering accounts payable, receivable, banking, accruals, pre‑payments, fixed assets and intercompany entries—plus performing regular bank, POS and card‑settlement reconciliations. The role also handles payroll bookkeeping, reconciles social and pension insurances, drives the month‑end close under Swiss GAAP, prepares financial statements and variance analyses, and supports liquidity monitoring, budgeting and forecasting. Additional responsibilities cover quarterly VAT filings, assistance with corporate tax submissions, serving as the main liaison for external auditors, and continuously improving accounting workflows through automation and tighter internal controls. Candidates must hold a degree in accounting, finance or a related discipline, with a Swiss qualification such as Fachausweis Finanz‑ und Rechnungswesen considered a strong advantage. Five to eight years of hands‑on accounting experience—preferably within Swiss SMEs in production, wholesale, retail or agriculture and with multi‑entity exposure—is required. Mastery of Swiss GAAP, the Swiss Code of Obligations, VAT and payroll‑related social insurances is essential, as is advanced Excel ability and solid ERP knowledge, with Odoo experience viewed favorably. Fluency in both English and German (C2 level) is mandatory, and applicants should be Swiss citizens or hold a valid B or C work permit. The position offers a gross salary of CHF 110‑130 k for full‑time work (or CHF 85‑105 k part‑time), 25 days of paid vacation, flexible hours and the possibility of part‑time arrangements.
