The Private Bank and Wealth Management Off‑Cycle Internship Programme 2027 is run by Barclays Private Bank in Geneva. It offers a 3‑to‑6‑month placement that lets you experience the daily work of a full‑time analyst in international private finance, while learning from seasoned private bankers who serve high‑net‑worth clients worldwide. During the internship you will carry out a range of analytical and client‑facing tasks. Typical duties include analysing the financial profile of prospective clients, drafting presentations and memoranda for both existing and new relationships, and supporting credit and onboarding due‑diligence work. You will also attend client meetings, help prepare research reports that feed strategic decisions, collaborate with senior managers on new product ideas, and assist in building business cases for market opportunities. Additional responsibilities cover managing client queries, processing transactions, developing simple financial models, and contributing to the launch of new services. Training sessions and mentorship activities are built into the programme to develop your technical and interpersonal skills. Barclays looks for candidates who are in the penultimate or final year of a university degree, regardless of the field of study, and who can communicate fluently in English. A genuine curiosity about business and finance, together with a proactive and entrepreneurial mindset, is highly valued. The description also highlights personal traits such as resourcefulness, teamwork, and enthusiasm, which may be demonstrated through extracurricular involvement. The role is based in Geneva, a city where Barclays has operated since 1986, blending the heritage of Swiss private banking with the global reach of the Barclays Group. Working in this environment provides exposure to a diverse, international network and the chance to build relationships across multiple functions and regions. The internship is designed as a stepping stone toward a full‑time analyst position, offering insight into the culture, processes, and growth opportunities within the private bank. What the role asks for: - Penultimate or final year of university degree (any discipline) - Fluent English language proficiency - Keen interest in business and finance (nice‑to‑have) - Resourceful attitude (nice‑to‑have) - Strong teamwork skills (nice‑to‑have) - High level of enthusiasm (nice‑to‑have) - Entrepreneurial spirit (nice‑to‑have) - Demonstrated extracurricular involvement (nice‑to‑have)
