Design & Material Intern

The Design & Material Intern position sits within The North Face team at VF’s EMEA headquarters in Stabio, Switzerland, a global company that owns brands such as The North Face, Vans and Timberland. Over a twelve‑month, full‑time placement beginning on 1 February 2027, the intern will be paid a gross monthly salary of 1 850 CHF and will experience how a brand‑led business creates seasonal collections from concept to market. Each day the intern will aid research on trends, consumer preferences and competitor activity to surface fresh design, material and colour ideas. The role also involves producing visual assets—sketches, technical packs, colour‑ups, style overviews and presentation decks—primarily with Adobe Illustrator, as well as supporting the sourcing and cataloguing of fabrics and trims. Maintaining up‑to‑date records in the FLEX and DASH systems, and collaborating closely with designers, the material specialist and cross‑functional partners, including the Denver headquarters, are also key duties. Applicants must be enrolled in or have completed a Fashion Design or Textile Engineering degree by the specified dates, hold EU or EEA citizenship, and possess a solid grasp of outdoor, lifestyle and technical product design. Required technical skills include proficiency in Excel and the Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator, while fluency in English, strong written and spoken communication, and the ability to work collaboratively under tight deadlines are essential.
