Senior Data Engineer

Futurae is a Swiss‑based cybersecurity firm that builds real‑time authentication and fraud‑prevention tools for banks, insurers and other enterprises. As a Senior Data Engineer you will be responsible for constructing and expanding the data platform that fuels the company's instant security insights, turning raw event streams into trustworthy information for engineering and machine‑learning teams. On a daily basis you will design, implement and scale streaming pipelines that handle large volumes of data, primarily using Apache Beam on Google Cloud Dataflow. You will fine‑tune the flow of information into BigQuery and Bigtable, ensuring rapid and reliable storage. In addition, you will create and maintain internal Python APIs built with FastAPI, apply modern code‑quality practices such as Poetry, Ruff and pytest, and continuously seek improvements that make the data stack faster and easier to use. When anomalies appear, you will investigate root causes and collaborate with product and ML groups to define practical data schemas. The role requires at least four years of experience building, operating and maintaining contemporary data pipelines. You must possess expert‑level knowledge of Apache Beam and Dataflow, and be comfortable with Google Cloud data services like BigQuery and Bigtable. Strong Python skills, especially with FastAPI and asynchronous programming, are essential, as is familiarity with linting and automated testing tools such as Ruff and pytest. The position also expects proactive ownership of the data lifecycle and clear communication while working remotely.
