Water Chemistry Engineer (m/f)

GEV is looking for a Water Chemistry Engineer (m/f) to join their team. The company focuses on project execution for new units, including dosing/sampling systems, water/wastewater treatment plants, and CEMS. The role involves contributing to new technology introduction (NPI/NTI) initiatives, such as carbon capture and new WSC designs, as well as site support activities. The main day-to-day responsibilities include prioritizing safety and compliance, executing engineering calculations and documentation, and supporting the design of water/steam cycle (WSC) systems. The role also involves leveraging AI tools and digital solutions to drive process improvements, applying lean engineering processes, and managing system requirements, drawings, and functional specifications. Additionally, the engineer will conduct on-site inspections, perform lab-based chemical analyses, and provide detailed reports for internal and external customers. To qualify, candidates must have a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry and practical experience in a chemical laboratory environment. Foundational knowledge of Carbon Capture solutions and fluency in English are also required. Nice-to-have skills include academic or project-based exposure to power plant water/steam cycle (WSC) chemistry and proficiency in drafting software such as Visio, Comos, or Aveva. The role may require occasional site travel for inspections and commissioning, as well as on-demand chemical analysis at the Birr, CH laboratory. The team is global and cross-functional, and the role involves managing multiple priorities and adapting quickly to business needs.
