Water Chemistry Engineer (m/f)

The role is a Water Chemistry Engineer (m/f) at GEV, focusing on project execution for new units, including dosing/sampling systems, water/wastewater treatment plants, and CEMS. The company specializes in water and steam cycle (WSC) systems, carbon capture, and new technology introduction (NPI/NTI) initiatives. The main day-to-day responsibilities include prioritizing safety and compliance, executing engineering calculations and documentation, and supporting the design of WSC systems. The role also involves leveraging AI tools and digital solutions to drive process improvements, applying lean engineering processes, and managing system requirements, drawings, and functional specifications. Additionally, the engineer will conduct on-site inspections, perform lab-based chemical analyses, and provide detailed reports. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams and providing weekly KPI updates. The must-have requirements include a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry, practical experience in a chemical laboratory environment, foundational knowledge of Carbon Capture solutions, and fluency in English. Nice-to-have skills include self-motivation, academic or project-based exposure to power plant water/steam cycle (WSC) chemistry, proficiency in drafting software (Visio, Comos, or Aveva), and the ability to work effectively within a global, cross-functional engineering team. The role may require occasional site travel for inspections and commissioning, as well as on-demand chemical analysis at the Birr, CH laboratory.
