The role of Cloud Infrastructure Engineer at Optravis involves designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure. The engineer will work closely with software development teams to understand their needs and ensure that the infrastructure meets those requirements. The main responsibilities include managing a portfolio of products and internal systems, such as Optravis' main Azure subscription. This involves improving the operational lifecycle of assigned assets, including scheduled controls, maintenance, and recovery exercises. The engineer will design, build, and maintain infrastructure components that are clean, efficient, reliable, tested, and compliant. They will also apply security best practices, implement technical controls, and contribute to the Operational Plan of the ISMS. To qualify for this role, candidates must have an MSc in Computer Science or an equivalent qualification. Swiss or EU/EFTA citizenship is required, as visa sponsorship is not available. Experience in building and operating production infrastructure, including networking, identity management, storage, and managed services, is essential. Practical experience with infrastructure-as-code, specifically Bicep, is also required. Candidates must be able to write and maintain code or scripts using Git, code reviews, and appropriate testing. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are mandatory. Strong troubleshooting skills across various applications, containers, operating systems, and networks are also necessary. The role requires accountability, practical security judgment, and the ability to evaluate and recommend technologies or products and estimate their expected costs. Nice-to-have skills include experience with Azure Container Apps, Front Door/WAF, managed identities, and managed PostgreSQL. Knowledge of CI/CD, observability, and automated security checks is also beneficial. Experience with Google Cloud, Kotlin/Java applications, or collaboration with JVM backend teams is a plus. Familiarity with ISO 27001 or ISAE 3402 environments, including technical controls and audit evidence, is also valuable.
