GNC Engineer

Harmattan AI builds cutting‑edge autonomous defense platforms and is expanding after a $200 million Series B round that lifted its valuation to $1.4 billion. The company seeks a GNC Engineer to join its UAV group, where you will create and refine guidance, navigation and control capabilities for unmanned aircraft. In this position you will craft navigation and sensor‑fusion algorithms, design flight‑control laws and generate trajectory plans. Your work will move from virtual testing, using Monte Carlo, software‑in‑the‑loop and hardware‑in‑the‑loop simulations, to real‑time embedded code that runs on flight computers. You will also build filtering and estimation modules, run extensive coverage tests, analyse flight‑test data, and support integration of GNSS, INS/IMU, localisation and other sensor streams across several UAV models. The role requires an engineering or master‑level degree in computer science, engineering or a related discipline, together with at least three years of experience developing aerospace GNC systems. You must have a solid grasp of control theory, estimation techniques and sensor integration, be fluent in Python and embedded C/C++, and be comfortable with simulation tools such as Gazebo and source‑code management via Git. Familiarity with open‑source autopilot stacks like PX4, Ardupilot or Betaflight, plus practical electronics skills for debugging, soldering and wiring, are also essential. The team operates in a high‑stakes environment that values rigor, ownership and rapid execution.
