Roche is a worldwide healthcare company that develops medicines and diagnostics to improve lives. The Contract Manufacturing Specialist role sits within the PTDS Production Enablement team and focuses on steering the global clinical supply chain. You will be responsible for overseeing outsourced clinical packaging activities and negotiating the agreements that keep medicines moving to patients on schedule and with the required quality standards. In this position you will act as the primary site manager for a network of Contract Manufacturing Organizations, supervising labeling, packaging and device assembly performed outside Roche. You will coordinate CMO onboarding, maintain clear communication, and keep project timelines on track while controlling costs and quality. Working closely with Procurement, you will run RFPs and SOWs, negotiate supply contracts and manage supplier relationships. You will also help define supply strategies for non‑standard products, own variable‑cost budgeting, and handle all pre‑ and post‑production packaging orders in the ERP system, issuing purchase orders, reviewing invoices and ensuring alignment in SAP. Key performance indicators will be set, monitored and reported, and you will represent the clinical packaging function in global cross‑functional forums. Finally, you will act as a subject‑matter expert, driving continuous‑improvement initiatives, digital enhancements and capacity‑building with CMO partners. The role requires a bachelor's degree (preferably in supply‑chain, business or a technical discipline) and at least five years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, clinical supply chain or contract manufacturing. A proven track record in project management is essential, and you must be comfortable making independent decisions on complex initiatives. Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, fluency in Business English and hands‑on expertise with SAP/ERP systems are mandatory. Effective negotiation, stakeholder management and clear communication across all corporate levels are also expected, as is the ability to work collaboratively in a global, matrixed environment. Based in Kaiseraugst, the position offers the chance to join a diverse, inclusive culture that values personal expression and open dialogue. You will be part of a large, international team that supports Roche's mission to deliver transformative medicines worldwide. The role provides exposure to cross‑regional partners in the US, Europe and Asia, and encourages continuous learning and career growth within a company that treats more than 26 million patients each year. What the role asks for: - BA/BS degree - 5+ years pharma/clinical supply chain or contract manufacturing experience - Proven project‑management expertise - Fluent Business English - SAP/ERP system proficiency - Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills - Ability to work across global time zones - Nice‑to‑have: APICS, PMP or Lean/Six Sigma certification - Nice‑to‑have: German language proficiency
