Field Service Technician

Alfa Laval seeks a Field Service Technician to join its After‑Sales team, working with cutting‑edge cryogenic pump technology used in the liquefied‑gas sector. Based at the Allschwil, Switzerland plant, the role supports a company that blends a 140‑year heritage with a start‑up mindset, aiming to make resource use more efficient across energy, food, water and shipping. The daily routine involves travelling to client facilities to install, troubleshoot and service pump installations while adhering to safety standards. Roughly six‑tenths of the year will be spent on assignments that can range from a few days to several weeks, sometimes including weekends, across Europe and other continents. When not on the road, the technician works from the Swiss site, handling office duties, providing remote assistance, and supporting service‑sales activities in close cooperation with internal groups. Candidates must hold an engineering diploma focused on industrial maintenance, control systems or mechanics, and bring hands‑on maintenance experience in areas such as mechanics, instrumentation, electrical work or general industrial electricity. Prior work with rotating machinery or industrial pumps is strongly preferred, and familiarity with cryogenic pumps is advantageous. Fluency in English at a B2 level or higher is required, with additional languages viewed positively. The position demands the ability to travel about 120 days a year, competence with Microsoft Office 365, and a flexible, self‑reliant attitude that enables autonomous field work and the production of clear, detailed reports. A genuine interest in sustainability and Alfa Laval’s purpose‑driven mission is essential. The job offers a dynamic environment that values collaboration and personal development, situated in a leading European hub for cryogenic equipment.
