The Application Engineer role involves representing Manukai to CNC manufacturers across the DACH region, preparing and delivering product demonstrations, and translating customer requirements into actionable feedback for the development team. The main day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and delivering tailored product demonstrations, qualifying prospects technically, and owning the demo preparation process. To qualify for this role, candidates must have a background in manufacturing, ideally through vocational training as a Polymechaniker/in, Produktionsmechaniker/in, or similar, complemented by further education in fields like Systemtechnik, Maschinentechnik, or Fertigungstechnik. Hands-on experience with at least one CAM system, practical knowledge of milling, turning, and drilling, and experience in a job shop, OEM production, or precision manufacturing environment are essential. Fluency in German at a native level and working proficiency in English are required. Nice-to-have skills include experience with technical training, customer support, or application engineering in a machine tool or CAM software environment. Interest in AI and software, experience presenting to groups or running live product demonstrations, and familiarity with CRM tools like HubSpot are also advantageous. Fluency in French and Italian is a plus. The role is based in Zürich, offering personal growth potential, a financial participation plan, and generous vacation and flexible work hours. What the role asks for: - Vocational training as a Polymechaniker/in, Produktionsmechaniker/in, or equivalent - Degree in Systemtechnik, Maschinentechnik, Fertigungstechnik, or a related field - Hands-on experience with at least one CAM system (e.g., Mastercam, Siemens NX, GibbsCAM, TopSolid) - Practical knowledge of milling, turning, and drilling - Experience in a job shop, OEM production, or precision manufacturing environment - Fluent German (native level) - Working English - Nice-to-have: Experience with technical training, customer support, or application engineering in a machine tool or CAM software environment - Nice-to-have: Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot)
