Sr. Packaging Innovation Manager

The senior packaging innovation manager will act as the technical leader for La Prairie’s luxury packaging, steering the creation of new materials, cutting‑edge formats and sustainable luxury experiences that keep the brand at the forefront of high‑end skincare. The role sits within a company renowned for premium cosmetics and requires collaboration with a wide network of internal teams and external partners to bring fresh concepts to life. Each day involves scouting emerging technologies, evaluating competitor moves and generating forward‑looking packaging ideas (referred to as “BlueSky”). The manager will guide early‑stage feasibility studies, prototype development and the design of moulds and tooling, ensuring that every concept complies with legal, quality, cost and market criteria before it passes to industrialisation. Responsibilities also include preparing detailed technical documentation, supporting contract and IP paperwork, and refining the testing framework that validates new solutions. Acting as the hub between supply chain, marketing, sustainability, R&D and quality, the manager will report on pipeline status, risks and strategic recommendations while shaping the overall packaging innovation roadmap. Candidates must hold a packaging‑engineer qualification or a comparable degree and bring at least ten years of experience in developing innovative packaging for luxury cosmetics. Proven ability to manage early‑stage development, conduct prototyping and perform technical validation is essential, as are strong cross‑functional leadership and communication skills. Fluency in English is required, and a good command of German is regarded as an advantage.
