IT Onsite Support Engineer (Basel, 1st, 2nd level support, English, German)

As an IT Onsite Support Engineer you will join a dynamic, international team based in Basel, offering 1st‑ and 2nd‑level support in both English and German. In this role you will be the primary contact for end‑users experiencing IT issues, handling requests, troubleshooting hardware, software and connectivity problems, and documenting every interaction in the ITSM ticketing system. Typical tasks include providing meeting and conferencing assistance for senior management, executing IMAC (install, move, add, change) activities, supporting VPN and remote‑access solutions, and escalating incidents when necessary. You will also contribute to the internal knowledge base, advise staff on computer operations, and keep users informed about ticket progress. The position requires at least one year of experience in a comparable support environment, with solid expertise in Windows 7/10, Microsoft Office and Office 365, and hands‑on knowledge of PC/Laptop hardware, peripherals and mobile devices. A basic understanding of Active Directory and Exchange is also expected. Strong communication skills in both German and English, written and spoken, are essential, as is the ability to work independently while following best‑practice guidelines. Candidates must be able to provide a recent criminal‑record extract (not older than three months) and demonstrate a customer‑focused, detail‑oriented mindset.
