Microsoft 365 Engineer

The Microsoft 365 Engineer role involves managing and enhancing the company's Microsoft 365 environment. The company focuses on delivering reliable collaboration and productivity services, ensuring a seamless experience for users. This role is pivotal in maintaining the integrity and security of the Microsoft 365 services, which are crucial for the company's operations. The main day-to-day responsibilities include administering and optimizing Microsoft 365 services such as Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive. The engineer will manage user identities, groups, licenses, and access, collaborating closely with identity and security teams. Additionally, the role involves supporting identity integration with Microsoft Entra ID and Active Directory, maintaining mail flow, and configuring collaboration services. The engineer will also implement and maintain security and compliance policies, monitor service health, and troubleshoot incidents. To excel in this role, candidates must have practical experience in administering Microsoft 365 services within an enterprise environment. A working knowledge of Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive is essential. Familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID, authentication, and access management, as well as an understanding of Microsoft 365 licensing and user lifecycle management, are required. Experience with PowerShell scripting and administrative automation, along with a solid grasp of security fundamentals, is crucial. Additionally, candidates should have a structured approach to troubleshooting and a service-oriented mindset, as well as good written and spoken English skills, including the ability to create technical documentation. Nice-to-have skills include experience with hybrid Exchange environments or Microsoft 365 migrations, familiarity with Conditional Access, privileged access management, and identity governance. Knowledge of Microsoft Defender for Office 365 and Microsoft Purview capabilities, as well as experience with retention policies, data loss prevention, and eDiscovery, are also beneficial. Familiarity with Microsoft Graph API and certificate-based automation, exposure to Microsoft Teams Phone, meeting room solutions, or enterprise voice services, and an understanding of Power Platform governance and administration are additional assets.
