The role of a Systems Test Engineer at Fortil involves supporting the verification and validation of complex communication and electronic systems. The main day-to-day responsibilities include defining and implementing system verification and validation strategies, developing test plans, procedures, and reports, and executing both manual and automated system-level test campaigns. The engineer will also create and maintain automated test scripts and environments, analyze test results, and collaborate with various engineering teams to resolve issues. Additionally, the role involves assessing system performance, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and documenting test activities and recommendations for continuous improvement. To qualify for this role, candidates must have a Master's degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Automation, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline. Experience in system verification and validation within a complex engineering environment is essential. The role requires a good understanding of complex electronic and communication systems, and experience in system-level testing and verification activities. Knowledge of RF systems, communication chains, or active antenna technologies is a strong asset. Additionally, candidates must have experience developing automated test solutions and scripts, and the ability to analyze complex technical issues. Strong documentation and reporting skills, as well as excellent communication and collaboration abilities, are also required. Professional working proficiency in English is mandatory. Nice-to-have skills include experience in aerospace, defence, telecommunications, or other high-tech industries, and exposure to phased-array antenna systems, RF subsystems, or advanced communication technologies. Experience in industrialization or production support activities is also beneficial.
