Amgen is a global biotechnology leader developing innovative medicines for patients worldwide. In the role of Senior Associate Global Safety (Local Safety Switzerland) you will join Amgen’s safety organization in Rotkreuz, supporting the local pharmacovigilance function and providing safety expertise to the Swiss affiliate and its cross‑functional teams. Your daily work will involve handling core safety activities such as collecting, processing and distributing adverse event data, preparing regulatory submissions, and managing urgent safety communications. You will keep the Swiss safety processes aligned with current legislation, update SOPs and manuals together with the Safety Manager, and ensure that local literature reviews, risk‑minimisation actions and patient‑support programmes meet PV standards. The position also requires you to train staff and partners on reporting obligations, support inspection readiness, and collaborate closely with colleagues in Germany, Austria and the broader international safety network. The employer expects a candidate with a university degree in life sciences, pharmacy, medicine, veterinary medicine or a related scientific discipline. Proven experience in pharmacovigilance—ideally within a pharmaceutical or biotech affiliate—is required, together with a practical understanding of Swiss PV regulations for both post‑marketing and clinical‑trial contexts. Strong organisational abilities, meticulous attention to detail and proven stakeholder‑management skills are essential, as is the capacity to identify, prioritise and escalate safety issues. You must be comfortable handling core operational safety tasks once trained and possess excellent written and spoken English as well as fluency in German; additional French or Italian language skills are considered a plus. Beyond the core requirements, experience with pharmacovigilance audits and inspections is valued, as is familiarity with the broader affiliate environment that includes Commercial, Medical, Regulatory, Quality, Legal and Market Access functions. The role offers the chance to work in a collaborative, diverse and inclusive setting, with ample opportunities for professional growth across Amgen’s global network. Based in Rotkreuz, you will be part of a team that directly contributes to patient safety and compliance, while benefiting from Amgen’s comprehensive total‑rewards package and commitment to work‑life balance. What the role asks for: - University degree in life sciences, pharmacy, medicine or related - Experience in pharmacovigilance (pharma/biotech affiliate) - Practical knowledge of Swiss PV requirements - Strong organizational and detail‑oriented skills - Stakeholder management with commercial, medical, regulatory, quality - Ability to identify, prioritize and escalate safety issues - Proficiency in English (written and verbal) - Fluency in German - French and/or Italian language skills (plus) - Experience with PV audits and inspections (nice‑to‑have)
