In this role you will be the primary point of contact for guests staying at the hotel partner in Lucerne. Your day begins by confirming arrival details, coordinating with drivers, and meeting travelers at the hotel entrance. You will guide them through check‑in, distribute Viking welcome materials, and explain the location of breakfast, business centre, wellness facilities and concierge services. Throughout the stay you maintain the hospitality desk, keep the area tidy, provide up‑to‑date city information, suggest dining options and make reservations, and handle any complaints. You also manage both included and optional shore excursions: presenting alternatives, processing bookings, liaising with local suppliers, briefing guides, handling audio equipment, and accompanying groups on tours. At departure you arrange transport, confirm flight changes, brief guests on luggage procedures and give a final farewell in line with Viking standards. The ideal candidate has a background in hotel or tourism operations and speaks English fluently. Strong computer abilities, especially with standard office tools and the MXP system, are required, as are excellent organisational and communication skills. A friendly, outgoing demeanor, a tidy appearance and the ability to stay calm under pressure are essential. The job calls for flexibility, problem‑solving talent and the capacity to work independently while keeping the guest experience at the forefront. A legal work permit for Switzerland and successful completion of mandatory medical checks are also mandatory. Additional assets include knowledge of German or French, which can enhance interactions with local partners and guests. Experience serving travelers from North America and Australia is viewed as beneficial. The role follows Viking's appearance policy, meaning visible tattoos are not permitted, and staff are expected to uphold a professional image at all times.
