Cloud Operations Lead

The Cloud Operations Lead role is crucial for maintaining the daily operation of Xelon's cloud platform, ensuring availability, incident response, and customer satisfaction. The Cloud Operations Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the cloud platform, including availability, incident response, monitoring, backup, and recovery. This role involves leading a team of four to six people, ensuring that the service desk provides a dependable experience for customers. The lead must also manage the operational side of networking, storage, and datacenter operations, as well as monitoring, incident response, and recovery processes. Additionally, the role involves leading the service desk, handling customer support, and acting as an escalation point for support incidents. The lead must also focus on team leadership, coaching, and development, as well as automating recurring manual operations and ensuring compliance with ISO 27001 and other relevant standards. To excel in this role, candidates must have a strong background in cloud operations, with experience in multi-hypervisor environments, particularly with VMware. Proficiency in networking, storage, and datacenter operations is essential. Knowledge of ISO 27001 and audit readiness is also required. The role demands leadership skills to manage a team and ensure operational excellence. Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code and scripting is beneficial. Nice-to-have skills include experience with VMware and other hypervisors, as well as a strong understanding of networking and storage technologies.
