Senior System Engineer 100% (w/m/d)

As a Senior System Engineer you will be responsible for delivering secure, stable and scalable IT infrastructure services that support Rieter's global operations. Your daily work will involve designing, building, operating and continuously improving the company's global server, storage, SAN, virtualization and Active Directory environments. You will manage both physical and virtual server platforms, storage systems and related data‑center hardware, plan and execute hardware lifecycle activities such as technology refreshes and capacity planning, and provide second‑ and third‑level support for these services. Automation of routine tasks with PowerShell and close collaboration with global IT teams, local organisations and external partners are also key parts of the role. The position requires a Bachelor's or HF degree (or equivalent) in Computer Engineering, IT, Systems Engineering or a related technical field, together with seven to ten years of professional experience in IT system engineering or operations. You must have strong experience with enterprise server infrastructure, deep knowledge of storage and SAN technologies, and extensive expertise in Windows Server, VMware, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS and DHCP. Proficiency in PowerShell scripting, a solid understanding of infrastructure security, and familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID, hybrid identity and Conditional Access are essential. Experience working with vendors, external service providers and globally distributed IT teams, as well as excellent analytical, problem‑solving, communication and collaboration skills, are also required. Very good written and spoken English is mandatory.
