Construction HSE Supervisor

Turner & Townsend, a global consultancy that delivers real‑estate, infrastructure and natural‑resources programmes, is seeking a Construction HSE Supervisor to join its Project Management (PJM) team. The role will support a large multinational client across three Swiss sites – Zurich, Basel and Luzern – and will be embedded on‑site, providing health, safety and environmental leadership for construction and manufacturing activities in a highly regulated setting. On a daily basis the supervisor will act as the HSE expert, fostering a visible safety culture among the PJM crew, contractors, suppliers and subcontractors. Responsibilities include delivering practical HSE assistance to active construction work, preparing and reviewing risk assessments, method statements, permits and contractor safety plans, and ensuring all actions meet local law, client expectations, international standards and company policies. The role also involves guiding contractor pre‑qualification and onboarding, monitoring performance, conducting site inspections and audits, leading incident reporting and investigations, and coaching the team on HSE tools and processes. Participation in presentations, bid meetings and contract discussions is also expected. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in environmental science, occupational health and safety, engineering or a related discipline, and possess a professional safety certification such as Certified Safety Professional. At least five years of experience in pharmaceutical environments is required, together with fluency in both German and English and strong written and verbal communication skills. A client‑focused attitude is essential. Experience with Swiss or broader European regulatory frameworks is considered advantageous.
