Experienced Mechanical R&D Engineer

Sécheron Hasler Group, a Swiss‑heritage company with more than a century and a half in railway technology, supplies electrical safety parts, traction power solutions and renewable‑energy systems worldwide. The Geneva office is seeking a senior mechanical engineer to join its research‑and‑development team. In this position you will translate advanced concepts into manufacturable, cost‑effective designs, evaluate and improve drawings created by others, and act as a mentor for robust‑design practices. Daily work includes collaborating across departments to support existing products, performing hands‑on assembly and testing, and applying multi‑physics knowledge to complex assemblies. You will also carry out tolerance management, finite‑element analysis and functional analysis, ensuring that designs meet industrial standards. The role requires a Master’s or PhD in mechanical engineering, micro‑technics, mechatronics or a related field, together with proven expertise in tolerance management, design‑to‑cost, robust design and FEA tools such as SolidWorks, COMSOL or ANSYS. Proficiency in English is mandatory; French or German are desirable. Familiarity with ISO geometric dimensioning, FMEA, machining of plastics and thermosets, and basic power‑electronics concepts is also expected. The company promotes flat hierarchies, rapid decision‑making and full responsibility for tasks, offering a collaborative environment where initiative is valued and career growth is supported.
