BI Engineer

We are looking for a BI Engineer to design, scale and maintain enterprise‑wide Power BI solutions and robust data models. The role sits within a team that connects business requirements to modern data architecture, collaborating directly with stakeholders and integrating a variety of cloud and on‑premise data sources. Day‑to‑day you will create and sustain Power BI reports, dashboards and app workspaces that match user needs. You will write complex DAX calculations, build star‑schema data models, and apply advanced features such as custom tooltips, dynamic bookmarks and comparison slicers. Data cleaning, transformation and validation will be performed with Power Query (M) and SQL, while security is enforced through Row‑Level and Object‑Level Security. You will also manage MS Fabric settings, gateway connections and scheduled refreshes, and follow IBCS and minimalist UI/UX guidelines to keep visualisations clear. The position requires proven experience as a Power BI Developer, Data Analyst or BI Engineer in an enterprise setting. You must have deep technical command of Power BI, DAX, Power Query (M) and tabular data modelling, as well as strong SQL skills for querying and staging data. Hands‑on use of external developer tools such as Tabular Editor and DAX Studio is essential, together with the ability to implement security architectures (RLS/OLS) and administer MS Fabric. Familiarity with cloud and enterprise platforms like Azure Databricks, Azure SQL, SAP or SharePoint is required, and you need fluent English communication skills and strong analytical, mathematical and problem‑solving abilities. The role also values a functional understanding of financial and business operations such as invoicing, payroll and performance tracking, and offers the chance to work with a team that emphasizes clear visual communication and modern data practices.
