Senior Application Engineer

Terravis, a leading digital platform, is seeking a Senior Application Engineer to join their dynamic team in Zurich. The company specializes in the domain-spanning digital processing of real estate transactions, connecting the financial industry, notary, and land registry for secure, efficient, and legally compliant real estate processes. The main responsibilities of the Senior Application Engineer include designing, developing, and maintaining scalable BPMN- and BPEL-based process workflows. This role involves collaborating with domain owners to capture and analyze business requirements, implementing and optimizing solutions using the ActiveVOS Workflow Engine, and ensuring performance, reliability, and security in all developed solutions. To qualify for this position, candidates must have a completed education in computer science and at least 10 years of experience in developing Java applications. Proficiency in Java, XML/JAXB, Spring, and XQuery is essential. Experience with BPMN and BPEL, as well as expertise in at least one workflow/process engine such as ActiveVOS, Camunda, or Flowable, is required. Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken, is mandatory. The ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders is crucial. Experience integrating BPM engines into microservice or enterprise architectures is a nice-to-have.
