The Destinus team in Payerne is seeking a Prototyping and Workshop Coordinator to keep its R&D workshop operating efficiently. The role bridges work preparation, warehouse handling, and shop‑floor management, making it ideal for someone with a machinist or poly‑mechanic background who enjoys both planning and hands‑on tasks. Each day the coordinator will control the workshop stores and warehouse, receiving deliveries, tracking material and tooling levels, and keeping inventory data up‑to‑date in the ERP system. Logistics duties include arranging inbound and outbound shipments, liaising with suppliers and carriers, and guaranteeing a smooth flow of parts between internal groups and external partners. Production planning (AVOR) involves reviewing technical drawings, defining operation sequences, drafting work instructions, and confirming that all required resources are ready before a job starts. The coordinator also maintains tool inventories, schedules equipment maintenance, and ensures a tidy, safe environment. When needed, they will set up machines, prepare workpieces, and assist technicians on the floor, as well as evaluate the manufacturability of new components and flag potential issues. The position requires completed vocational training as a Polymechaniker, machinist, or an equivalent EFZ qualification, together with at least three years of broad operational experience covering a minimum of two areas such as work preparation, warehouse logistics, or production‑floor operations. Candidates must possess a practical, hands‑on mindset, a solid grasp of manufacturing processes, technical drawings, machining methods and tolerances, and be comfortable using ERP tools for inventory and production tracking. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage several work streams independently are essential, as is fluency in English. Experience in a high‑mix, low‑volume or R&D‑adjacent environment is advantageous, and knowledge of French and/or German is considered a strong plus. The role offers the chance to work closely with engineering, procurement and production teams in a dynamic, prototype‑focused setting at the Payerne site. What the role asks for: - Completed vocational training as Polymechaniker, machinist or equivalent EFZ - Minimum three years of operational experience in at least two relevant areas - Hands‑on attitude, able to work directly on the shop floor - Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, drawings, tolerances - Proven experience with ERP systems for inventory and logistics - Organized and self‑sufficient, managing multiple workstreams independently - Fluent in English (required) - Experience in high‑mix, low‑volume or R&D‑adjacent manufacturing (nice‑to‑have) - Proficiency in French and/or German (nice‑to‑have)
