RF/Antenna Engineer (M/F)

Fortil is a global engineering and technology consultancy that operates on an independent model, employing more than 2,500 professionals across 30 offices in 14 nations. The company is expanding its activities in the canton of Vaud and seeks an RF/Antenna Engineer to join a multidisciplinary R&D team that creates advanced RF subsystems and antenna solutions for demanding communication uses. In this position you will work under a technical manager, partnering with RF and antenna designers to define, simulate, test and characterize both early‑stage demonstrators and products moving toward series production. Daily tasks include developing and evaluating microwave building blocks, phased‑array concepts and RF structures for Ka, Ku, X, C and S bands, setting up and operating measurement rigs, comparing simulated and measured results, investigating anomalies, and contributing to design reviews and trade‑off studies. You will also produce detailed test reports, collaborate with hardware, mechanical, software and system engineers, and interact with external partners and specialised laboratories. The role requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, RF Engineering, Electromagnetics or a related discipline, together with at least five years of practical experience in RF, microwave or antenna engineering. Candidates must possess a solid grasp of RF theory, proven involvement in RF or antenna development, hands‑on testing skills, and familiarity with simulation tools such as CST, ADS, HFSS, TICRA or MATLAB. Experience with RF measurement equipment, the ability to correlate data, strong troubleshooting aptitude, meticulous documentation habits, and fluency in English are also mandatory. Additional assets include experience with phased‑array or electronically steered antennas, antenna measurement environments, industrialisation of designs, use of Altium Designer, and exposure to aerospace or satellite communication systems.
